We are looking for an Applied AI Specialist - Federal to play a key role in shaping AI-driven products that deliver exceptional value to federal customers. This individual will work closely with product managers, AI engineers, and designers, adopting a product-first mindset to ensure that AI solutions are not only technically robust but also meet the specific needs of users in the federal sector.
In this role, you will bridge the gap between cutting-edge AI development and real-world product requirements, ensuring that AI models deliver practical, high-quality user experiences. You will help define the product vision, roadmap, and key success metrics, while learning the frameworks necessary to drive product decisions and prioritize customer outcomes.
Model Assessment & Product Fit: Work with product teams to assess AI outputs for quality, relevance, and accuracy, ensuring they meet user needs and align with the broader product strategy. Apply product thinking to evaluate the fit of AI features within the overall product ecosystem.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with product managers, AI engineers, and designers to integrate AI capabilities into broader product features. You’ll provide insights on user-centric AI solutions and help define product requirements based on real-world usage scenarios.
Product Lifecycle Management: Learn and apply product management frameworks to assist in managing AI features through the entire product lifecycle— from concept to deployment. Assist in defining product goals, KPIs, and success metrics.
Market & User Research: Support the product team in identifying customer pain points, conducting user interviews, and analyzing market trends. Use this information to inform AI feature prioritization and guide the development of AI models that solve real-world problems.
Iterative Feedback and Testing: Provide actionable feedback on AI prototypes and models through iterative testing. Help product teams refine AI capabilities based on user feedback, market conditions, and performance metrics.
Quality Benchmarking: Define quality standards for AI model outputs and create benchmarks for performance evaluation. Monitor the success of AI features post-launch, ensuring they deliver value to users and meet established goals.
Operationalizing AI: Assist product and engineering teams in the operationalization of AI features, including deployment, performance tracking, and post-launch refinement.
Work alongside product managers to define the roadmap for AI-driven features that address federal sector needs.
Define quality standards for AI outputs and assist in benchmarking these standards across AI models.
Collaborate on early-stage product testing, ensuring AI models perform as expected in real-world scenarios.
5–10 years of experience in Federal, State, and Local government contracting, with a strong grasp of public sector procurement dynamics.
Deep understanding of the complexities of government acquisition, contract execution, and compliance frameworks across both civilian and defense agencies.
Skilled in interpreting and applying federal regulations, including FAR, DFARS, and agency-specific guidelines, to ensure successful, compliant contract delivery.
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, accessible language for diverse audiences.
Proven track record of thriving in collaborative, fast-moving environments, with a strong learning orientation and openness to modern product management methodologies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, grounded in a customer-centric approach to decision-making.
Solid understanding of applied AI technologies; bonus points for hands-on experience in evaluating, testing, or refining AI outputs for quality and relevance to customer needs.
