Summary of Position:

Application Support Specialist I will provide first-level support for critical business applications including Sage MAS ERP. Write Excel reports using Crystal and MS SSRS. Make programming changes to applications as directed by management.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist with software integrations, data imports, and data exports
  • Troubleshoot application errors reported by end-users
  • Monitor systems for proper operation
  • Design and create Crystal Reports
  • Create Microsoft Reports with SSRS Experience
  • Query data from Microsoft SQL Server
  • Write reports collecting information from department database resources for various computer systems
  • Train users on software and hardware
  • Collect data-entry errors and performs routine maintenance
  • Act as a liaison between the IT department and vendors
  • Develop worksheets and other items for use by users

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee in this position frequently communicates with other co-workers/clients who have inquiries about the various projects and other needs. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. The employee must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time. The employee in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Constantly operate a computer and office machinery such as a calculator, keyboard, copy machine, and printer. Frequently moves boxes with equipment weighing up to 25lbs across the building and/or to other offsite buildings for various project needs.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred              
  • 2 years of IT application experience required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Ability to write T-SQL is highly desired
  • Web-based programming skills such as HMTL, XML, JavaScript, .Net is a plus
  • Self-motivated and customer service oriented
  • Ability to take ownership of and follow through on client issues until a resolution is achieved
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to speak effectively in interpersonal situations
  • Strong interpersonal, problem solving, and analytical skills
