Role SummaryWelocalize is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Product Manager to support our AIML Engineering organization as we develop new AI products and deploy these products into production systems. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between innovation and practical application, ensuring seamless integration and timely execution of AI projects.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Coordinate: Efficiently coordinate efforts via real-time and asynchronous activity between the two globally distributed engineering teams - AIML R&D and AIML Data & Platform Engineering - to ensure alignment and drive successful product development
- Support: Actively support both teams in defining product requirements, prioritizing features, and managing the product backlog, including responsibility for documenting and coordinating sprint priorities across teams
- Manage: Oversee the product development lifecycle, from AI product ideation, through research and library development, through worker creation and production deployments, and culminating in documentation and observability tooling.
- Data Collection: Manage data collection activities in coordination with cross functional teams to supply AI R&D teams with necessary data to drive training, testing and benchmarking efforts.
- Communicate: Serve as a liaison between stakeholders, including local PM teams, globally based Business Development teams, and other cross-functional units, to gather requirements and provide updates.
- Document: Create and maintain detailed product documentation, including user stories, use cases, and functional specifications, providing up-to-date guidelines for production configuration of all AIML toolings
- Model: Identify resources that aid in measuring product impact and create models that estimate impact over time
- Test: Facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT) and ensure that feedback is accurately captured and addressed.
- Data Visualization & Monitor: Drive development of application and infrastructure monitoring dashboards and support both AIML team and end users in developing BI visualizations that support product monitoring. Analyze data and capture user feedback to inform monitoring automation requirement while targeting impactful improvements and feature enhancements
- Educate: Provide training and support to internal teams and end-users on new AI tools and functionalities.
Success in this role looks like effectively managing the AI product lifecycle, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of AI tools, fostering strong collaboration between teams, and continuously driving product improvements based on user feedback and market trends.
Skills and Knowledge
- Strong written and verbal communications in English (minimum C2 level)
- Strong understanding of AI and machine learning concepts and technologies.
- Strong SQL skills and ability to translate business questions into useful queries
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with diverse stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to conduct market research and competitive analysis.
- Outstanding proficiency in using product management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Jellyfish or similar platforms.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic global environment.
- Familiarity with software development methodologies, including Agile and Scrum.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in product management, preferably in the technology or AIML sector.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams and managing product development processes.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
- Experience in lieu of formal education is acceptable, with a minimum of 2 years in a relevant field.
- Background in linguistics, computational linguists, translation is a plus.
