Responsibilities

We are actively seeking to identify personnel to join our team of talented professionals who possess the experience, vision, commitment, and integrity to successfully support multiple clients within the Department of Defense (DOD). Personnel will be working remotely from the east coast and will travel to the west coast e.g. San Diego when needed for team collaboration and conferences. Personnel will need to be eligible for security clearance e.g. Secret (S) and Top Security (TS).

This role will be supporting the Naval Information Warfare Systems Command (NAVWAR). NAVWAR is a Department of Navy acquisition command that provides networks, sensors, and systems to connect military assets. NAVWAR's mission is to: (1) Identify, develop, deliver, and sustain information warfare capabilities and services (2) Enable naval, joint, coalition, and other national missions, and (3) Provide essential services for strategic defense, communications, and deterrence.

NAVWAR's work is vital to the Navy's mission and national security and includes: (1) Providing secure communications and networks, (2) Connecting the air, surface, subsurface, space, and cyberspace, and (3) Performing technical programs to defend against cyberattacks.  

As a Software Developer, you will be a valued member of a collaborative team of talented software engineers, developers, managers, and clients in a fast paced iterative and agile development environment. The team is working to improve the operation of NAVWAR and DOD Research and Development (R&D) and Software Development programs through Noblis Sponsored Research (NSR). 

Qualified candidate will provide technical expertise for full life cycle development and support to this critical program, including:  

  • Work closely with Product Owners to understand the business value of requirements and collaborate with a team to translate these needs into working software
  • Develop and test web-applications using various tools and techniques.
  • Provide input on solutioning and/or User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) designs
  • Estimate and plan work items
  • Participate in release activities and troubleshooting
  • Improve yourself and your team through ongoing idea-sharing, collaboration, and problem-solving.
  • Work with Program Managers (PM) to improve team performance and consistently deliver quality software on time and within budget
  • Recommend innovative solutions to improve our products
  • Conduct R&D in Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
  • Develop and test ML and AI prototypes and proof of concepts.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, computer engineering, or similar
  • Advance degree, or working towards advance degree in computer engineering (or similar)
  • At least 4 years of experience in software development or web development (experience can come from professional and/or academic efforts)
  • U.S. Citizen
  • Professional and/or academic experience experience with various programming languages, specifically Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) languages (Java, Python).
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team on multiple tasks using Agile Scrum
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to convey technical solutions with the team and create robust documentation
  • Proactive attitude

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) services, and other cloud services.
  • Experience with UI/UX
  • Experience developing applications using various programming languages
  • Interest in database design
  • Interest in application security and code quality
  • Interest in client/user communications
  • Professional and/or academic experience with AI/ML, reinforcement learning, etc.

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package.

Posted Salary Range

USD $61,600.00 - USD $96,250.00 /Yr.
