What you'll be doing

The AI Validation Manager will oversee the validation processes for certain AI products, ensuring compliance with scientific and regulatory standards. The responsibilities of the AI Validation Manager will include:

Validation Planning and Strategy

  • Develop comprehensive validation plans that outline the scope, objectives, methodologies, and metrics for evaluating AI models and systems.

  • Define success criteria for AI models, including performance benchmarks, accuracy thresholds, and other key performance indicators (KPIs).

​Testing and Evaluation

  • Oversee the testing of AI models using various datasets, including training, validation, and test sets, to ensure the model's accuracy and generalizability.

  • Implement rigorous testing methodologies, including unit testing, integration testing, stress testing, and A/B testing.

  • Validate AI models against real-world scenarios, edge cases, and adversarial examples to assess their robustness.

Ethical and Compliance Validation

  • Ensure that AI systems are free from biases that could lead to unfair or unethical outcomes.

  • Validate that the AI system complies with legal, regulatory, and organizational standards, such as GDPR for data privacy.

  • Conduct fairness assessments and ensure transparency in the AI’s decision-making processes.

Performance Monitoring

  • Continuously monitor the performance of AI systems post-deployment to identify any deviations from expected behavior.

  • Use real-time data and feedback loops to validate the ongoing accuracy, reliability, and effectiveness of the AI system.

  • Implement tools and dashboards for tracking AI performance metrics.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain detailed documentation of validation processes, methodologies, results, and any identified issues or concerns.

  • Prepare validation reports for stakeholders, outlining the findings, risks, and recommendations for improvement.

What we look for

  • Master’s degree, preferably in engineering, biomedical engineering, computer science, information technology or health/life sciences

  • PhD is a strong plus

  • 5+ years current experience in validation processes

  • 2+ years clinical trials experience within a CRO or pharmaceutical research organization

  • Strong background in AI and machine learning

  • General management experience and proven ability in leading or mentoring technical teams is a plus

  • Strong interpersonal, organization and leadership skills

  • Working knowledge of GCH, ICH guidelines and FDA & EMA regulations

  • Knowledge of GCPs, 21CFR Part 11 and related electronic record requirements.
