The GenAI Org at Meta is seeking a strong research scientist to join our team and work on the next generation of models for content and media generation. At GenAI, we’re developing cutting edge AI technologies that will define the future of content creation, productivity and social media. As a research scientist in our org, you will play a crucial role in advancing the state-of-the-art of image and video foundation models. You will work with research scientists, software engineers and data scientists to design technical solutions in a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment.
AI Research Scientist, Computer Vision for Generative AI (PhD) Responsibilities
Lead research and development of state-of-the-art image and video generative models
Develop technical vision, long-term strategy and set direction for the team and the organization
Communicate, collaborate, and build relationships with peer and internal teams to facilitate cross-functional projects
Mentor other team members. Play a significant role in healthy cross-functional collaboration
Minimum Qualifications
Experience and track record in landing large product impacts in a fast-paced environment
5+ years of hands on experience in generative models for media and computer vision, in the setting of both research and engineering development
Currently has a PhD degree in Computer Science, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
Proven technical vision in where the field of Generative AI will go
Experience with cross functional collaboration with product and platform teams, as well as non-engineering functions
Demonstrated experience recruiting, building, structuring, leading technical organizations, including performance management
Preferred Qualifications
Direct experience in Generative AI and LLM research, and taking the solutions to production
Experience solving complex problems and comparing alternative solutions, trade-offs, and diverse points of view to determine a path forward
Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by grants, fellowships, patents, as well as first-authored publications at leading workshops or conferences such as CVPR, ECCV/ICCV, SIGGRAPH, or similar
Experience working and communicating cross-functionally in a team environment
