About the role

The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Program Director is responsible for designing, leading, and managing AI-driven initiatives across the organization. This individual serves as the key driver of AI innovation, ensuring alignment with business objectives, delivering impactful AI solutions, and fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making. The role requires a unique combination of strategic vision, technical expertise, and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Define and implement the organizations AI strategy in alignment with business goals.
  • Identify high-impact opportunities for AI adoption across products, services, and internal processes.
  • Partner with executive leadership to drive AI innovation and align AI initiatives with long-term organizational objectives.

Program Management

  • Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of AI programs, from ideation to deployment and monitoring.
  • Establish and manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure the successful delivery of AI initiatives.
  • Create metrics and KPIs to measure the performance and impact of AI projects.

Technical Oversight

  • Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and IT teams to develop scalable and ethical AI solutions.
  • Evaluate and recommend AI tools, platforms, and frameworks to enhance organizational capabilities.
  • Ensure the technical feasibility, quality, and integrity of AI implementations.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and understanding of AI solutions.
  • Lead cross-functional workshops and training programs to promote AI literacy and adoption within the organization.
  • Collaborate with external partners, vendors, and research institutions to explore new AI advancements.

Governance and Risk Management

  • Develop and enforce AI governance frameworks to ensure ethical, transparent, and responsible use of AI.
  • Stay abreast of evolving AI regulations and standards to ensure compliance across all projects.
  • Mitigate risks associated with AI deployment, including biases, data privacy, and security concerns.

Essential requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or a related field. Masters or Ph.D. preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in AI, machine learning, or data science, with 3+ years in a leadership or program management role.
  • Proven track record of delivering AI solutions that drive business value.
  • Deep understanding of AI technologies, frameworks, and platforms (e.g., machine learning, NLP, computer vision).
  • Strong project management and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Knowledge of AI ethics, governance, and compliance standards.
