We have an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled AI Manager to join the Marlabs team leading an innovation lab in Pune, India. This is a hybrid role, with some onsite work required.

AI Manager | About You

As an AI Manager, you are responsible for driving innovation and experimentation within Marlabs’ AI Innovation Lab, transforming ideas into real-world impact through rapid prototyping and proof of concepts (POCs). You’re both a visionary and a builder, equally skilled at setting strategic direction and rolling up your sleeves to solve complex problems. With deep expertise in AI/ML and a track record of delivering client-focused solutions, you lead with purpose, mentor with intention, and thrive in high-velocity environments. Your ability to connect technical innovation with business outcomes makes you a key player in Marlabs’ continued growth in the AI space.

AI Manager | Day-to-Day

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of AI engineers and data scientists, fostering a culture of collaboration, experimentation, and continuous learning.
• Partner with sales and solution teams to understand client needs and deliver AI-driven POCs that support pre-sales engagements.
• Drive the design and rapid iteration of AI/ML prototypes, fostering a culture of experimentation and continuous learning to uncover scalable solutions.
• Present POC results and technical insights to internal and external stakeholders, adapting messaging to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Manage multiple concurrent lab initiatives, aligning team priorities with business goals, resource availability, and sales timelines.
• Contribute to internal AI enablement through knowledge sharing, documentation, training sessions, and evangelizing emerging technologies and methodologies.

AI Manager | Skills & Experience

• 7+ years of professional hands-on experience, with the last 3+ years focused on AI/ML development or Data Science based projects, with a strong track record of delivering practical, business-impacting solutions.
• 2+ years of experience formally leading, managing, mentoring small teams of technologists.
• Proven ability to excite, motivate, and inspire collaboration and solution centric thinking.
• Expertise in leading technical teams and mentoring AI/ML professionals in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.
• Deep understanding of core AI/ML concepts including supervised/unsupervised learning, deep learning (CNNs, RNNs, Transformers), NLP, and Generative AI.
• Strong proficiency in Python and experience with key frameworks and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, Hugging Face, and LangChain.
• Demonstrated ability to rapidly develop and deploy POCs in client-facing or pre-sales scenarios, with clear business value.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex AI concepts and outcomes to both technical and business audiences.
