Deloitte has exciting career opportunities for an AI Engineer / Data Scientist within our Artificial Intelligence & Data Team.

We offer the opportunity to work with a variety of clients, technologies and provide a challenging and exciting work environment with scope for personal development and on-going training. Our team design and build architectures, automate processes, create interactive visualisations, search for patterns, develop predictive models and leverage AI technologies to bring actionable insight from data. Our team also work cross-functionally with other areas within our Technology and Transformation business (Human Capital, Customer & Marketing, Cloud Engineering, Operations Transformation etc.) and gain a broad knowledge of working models and industry sectors.

About the role:

• Develop and implement AI solutions and algorithms to solve complex business problems

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and deliver AI solutions, collaborating with data scientists and software developers to integrate AI models into applications and systems

• Design and build machine learning pipelines and infrastructure

• Optimise AI models for scalability and efficiency

• Ensure the ethical and responsible use of AI technologies

• Keep abreast of the latest advancements in AI and machine learning

• Provide technical expertise and guidance on AI-related projects, utilising stakeholder management skills and building trusting client relationships

• Manage and coach junior team members and provide technical and non-technical guidance on their projects

About you:

• Suitable experience with a minimum of a third level degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field

• Solid background in deploying data driven and AI applications into production, preferably in a fast-paced environment

• Proficiency in statistical and exploratory data analysis, data mining, and machine learning techniques

• Experience working with large data sets and distributed computing tools such as Hadoop or Spark  

• Experience with programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL

• Experience on working with Large Language Models (OpenAI, Anthropics, LLama, Gemini etc.) with fine tuning and prompt engineering practices

• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP

• Experience with data visualisation tools such as Tableau or PowerBI is a plus
