About the role & team  

We are the largest data science team of Swiss Re and are looking for an enthusiastic Senior AI Engineer who is passionate about applying cutting-edge AI techniques to real-world challenges. We create global AI-driven products made in Bratislava. While we value a strong foundation in machine learning, we also emphasize robust engineering practices, scalable infrastructure, and deploying AI solutions into production. 

If you join us, you will be able to participate in a variety of interesting initiatives. For example, you will: 

• Design and deploy AI solutions to extract insights from complex legal documents using Generative AI,
• Build and operationalize machine learning models to estimate life expectancy,
• Develop AI tools to assess climate risks,
• Contribute to a wide range of projects in close collaboration with Swiss Re's global network of offices. 

We are a highly skilled and diverse team in Bratislava that solves analytics projects around the globe. Our passion to learn is what connects us. We love to learn new skills and will support you to do the same! We reserve time for studying and organize our own upskilling sessions as well.

About You  

Nobody is perfect and meets 100% of requirements. If you, however, meet some of the criteria below, we will be happy to meet you. 

In order to be successful in the role, you need to have these technical skills and knowledge:  

• Degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Software Engineering, or a related quantitative field 
• Proficiency in Python (or similar languages) and familiarity with modern AI/ML frameworks 
• Solid understanding of machine learning, deep learning, and MLOps practices 

If you also have the following experience and interests, it is a huge plus:  

• Experience deploying AI systems in production environments, including model monitoring and maintenance 
• Experience working with large-scale data pipelines and distributed computing 
• Experience in Generative AI and/or Natural Language Processing 
• Interest in AI ethics, explainability, and secure model deployment

For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between [EUR 2,400] and [EUR 4,100] per month (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:​

• the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role, ​
• the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.​

In addition to your base salary, Swiss Re offers an attractive performance-based variable compensation component, designed to recognise your achievements. Further you will enjoy a variety of global and location specific benefits.​

Eligibility may vary depending on the terms of Swiss Re policies and your employment contract.​
