The AI Engineer operates, scales, and ensures the availability and usability of AI models and solutions. In addition, the AI Engineer actively participates in the model development process in close coordination with the Data Science department.

Main Responsibilities

• Responsible for bringing machine learning solutions to life and deploying them on our deployment architecture.

• Contribute to the optimization of the entire lifecycle of machine learning models and solutions 

• Responsibility for the up-to-dateness of existing machine learning models and solutions, including monitoring model degradation and designing autonomous retraining mechanisms.

• Responsible for the manipulation and harmonization of data (structured, semi- and unstructured) to speed up the model development process.

• Participation in the definition of an efficient machine learning and microservice architecture.

Qualifications

• University degree (preferably diploma, master's or PhD) in computer science, software engineering computational engineering or a related field

• At least 5 years of of experience in the machine learning engineering environment, ideally in an international environment and with virtual teams (more than 7 years of experience is highly preferred)

• Experience in setting up machine learning architectures and expertise with technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, serverless computing and the offerings of the leading cloud providers

• Experience with tools and frameworks such as Kafka, Spark, with SQL and noSQL databases and with edge computing

• Experience with programming/scripting languages such as bash, perl, ruby, python and R

• Entrepreneurial perspective and willingness to master a variety of different challenges

• Open-minded personality and approachable team player (m/f/d)

• Open-mindedness to work in a fluid, dynamic and fast-changing environment

• Fluency in written and spoken English as well as the willingness and ability to take international business trips
