About the role

We are seeking an experienced AI Engineer to design, develop, and deploy AI systems that drive agentic AI Automation within the property buying and owning, mortgage broking and financial services sector. You will work at the intersection of AI, data, software engineering, and financial services,building cutting-edge solutions that enhance operational efficiency and customer experiences.

You will be reporting into a newly formed team within Lendi Group that is focused on AI driven initiatives, working side-by-side with a high performing, knowledgeable and fun team.

This is a unique opportunity to make an impact on our long-term vision to expand our AI capability across the enterprise. We are open to this being a full-time permanent position or a fixed-term contract arrangement. Due to the nature of the project, the incumbent will be required to work from our Sydney-based Head Office alongside the broader project team for four to five days per week.

Job Description

  • Build and optimize our GenAI Platform, that we can deliver AI services, agents and applications. Utilising your experience and knowledge of various frameworks, models, tools, platforms and APIs.
  • Develop AI Agents and AI applications that have a wide range of abilities / tools (e.g. easily connect with databases, external APIs, internal tools and support agent-to-agent communication).
  • Implement comprehensive evaluation & testing frameworks to validate agent performance, accuracy and outcomes
  • Develop tools to continuously monitor AI agents and applications, their reliability, effectiveness and performance and evaluate accuracy, efficiency, and reliability of AI outputs
  • Develop tooling and pipelines agents to facilitate AI agent creation deployment and manage their overall lifecycle
  • Work closely with UX engineers to ensure smooth integrations between AI agents and user-facing interfaces
  • Ensure the platform is robust, scalable, and secure to support various AI-driven applications
  • Implement essential logging and observability to support performance evaluation and troubleshooting
  • Ensure your agents can act autonomously but have the right interface to guarantee a human in the loop
  • Provide subject matter expertise on AI tools, agents and vendors, and take technical leadership of your team's AI efforts

Qualifications

  • Significant, proven hands-on experience in AI agent development. Can be demonstrated by sharing your github repo examples.
  • Proven experience with different AI tools, agents and vendors such as, OpenAI, Claude, AWS Bedrock, Langchain, CrewAI.
  • Proven experience with different AI technologies, such as text/image generative, RAG and multi-agent architectures.
  • Experience in integrating AI vendors into an enterprise eco-system.
  • Expert in AI/ML concepts, vector databases, and DevOps best practices.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript or Python.
  • Expertise in API design, system architecture, and backend development.
  • Strong focus on testing, quality assurance, and system reliability.
  • Deep experience with JavaScript frameworks relating to AI is helpful. 
  • Experience with building first-of-a-kind solutions incl. scaling them helpful. 
  • Proficiency in standards and techniques for web scalability, performance, and security.
  • Experience with AWS cloud technologies.
