Job Description

We have an exciting new opportunity for AI Engineer to be part of the L&G Retail’s AI Practice. The role holder will be working with cross-functional teams and specialist areas, embedding best practices and thinking in building innovative solutions for Artificial Intelligence and enhance existing solutions and systems within an agile, GitOps environment to help achieve business goals and deliver successful outcomes.

    What you'll be doing:

    • Delivering new Artificial Intelligence solutions, resolve issues and input to the definition of new approaches where applicable to deliver valuable features to our Retail customers. 
    • Developing solutions for managing and operating Machine Learning models and LLMs. 
    • Building Artificial Intelligence back-end applications using Python and front-end using Angular, TypeScript, CSS and HTML. 
    • Developing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), Configuration-as-Code (CaC) and Policy-as-Code patterns and solutions using Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, YAML and Kustomize.  
    • Contributing to design, build and deployment phases. Share learning with peers, customers and other team members. 
    • Ensuring continual improvements to the knowledge and understanding of AI, GitOps, InfoSec and DevOps principals and operations to actively contribute to the success of the team, Division and wider Business as a whole. 
    • Ensuring business and system changes follow best business AI practices and the correct change process and methodology, including the IT Change Management Standard and Responsible AI.  

    Qualifications

    • Professional certification or degree in AI Engineering preferred but not essential, with demonstrable experience considered an equivalent. 
    • An understanding of or passion for AI and ML 
    • Azure Cloud, DevOps, GitOps and MLOps knowledge is preferable 
    • Test-Driven / Behaviour-Driven Development methods and frameworks CI/CD, Continuous Testing, DevOps Tools and Technologies 
    • Exposure to Azure IaaS, PaaS and SaaS Connectivity 
    • Understanding of Azure Networking (Express Route, Virtual Networks, ASG / NSG, Azure Firewall) 
    • Experience in Kubernetes, Helm, Kustomize, Terraform and YAML 
    • Experience in Python service development and deployment 
    • Experience in developing applications in Angular 
    • Experience in NOSQL databases 
    • Experience in building solutions for Machine Learning, AI and RAG frameworks 
    • Experience in building GitOps and MLOps workflows 
    • Experience in coaching and mentoring junior team members in both technical aspects and process such as release management and change management
