As an AI Data Engineer, you will be at the forefront of transforming gameplay data into powerful insights and scalable data products that fuel analytics and AI innovation. This role combines engineering excellence with a strong understanding of business needs to support data scientists, game developers, and product teams. You'll help build and maintain robust, automated pipelines and analytics-ready datasets, supporting one of the world’s most popular video game franchises. This is a high-impact opportunity to influence game development and player experience through intelligent, data-driven solutions.
Become a subject matter expert in gaming analytics and collaborate with data consumers to understand and support their data needs.
Design and maintain scalable, high-quality data models and dataflows tailored for analytics and machine learning.
Develop and manage end-to-end automated data pipelines that clean, transform, and enrich complex gameplay data.
Build reusable tools and frameworks to support ongoing analytics and AI initiatives.
Ensure the integrity, privacy, and security of data through best practices in governance and compliance.
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to ensure solutions are usable and reliable.
Maintain metadata and documentation that improves discoverability and trust in the data.
Identify and resolve pipeline or modeling issues to maintain data accuracy and reliability.
Contribute to AI experimentation and model development through well-prepared and accessible data sets.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
5–7 years of experience in data or analytics engineering roles, including:
Python (3–5 years) for data processing with a focus on performance and readability.
SQL (2+ years) for large-scale data manipulation and query optimization.
Data modeling (3–5 years) to support analytics, dashboards, and AI applications.
Big data pipeline development (5+ years), particularly involving event or log data.
Cloud platforms (3–5 years), preferably Azure or equivalent.
Deep understanding of scalable architecture, data lifecycle, and ETL best practices.
Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Strong collaboration and communication skills.
Experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, and orchestration tools like Airflow.
Familiarity with DevOps/DataOps practices and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).
Background or strong interest in the video game industry as a developer or player.
Experience preparing data for AI/ML use cases, including experimentation and model training.
Demonstrated ability to build highly usable and flexible data solutions aligned with business goals.
Salary Range:
Pay ranges vary based on multiple factors including, without limitation, skill sets, education, responsibilities, experience, and geographical market. The pay range for this position reflects geographic based ranges for Washington state: $110,000 to $120,000 USD/annually. The salary/wage and job title for this opening will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience and may be outside this range.
