Market & Technology ANYbotics transforms industrial plants in the (renewable) energy, process, and utility sectors by introducing robotics to a wide range of novel applications that so far were beyond reach. Our mobile robot ANYmal uses legs for extreme mobility in complex environments, camera- and LIDAR-based sensing for full autonomy and obstacle avoidance to perform jobs and deliver high-quality, consistent inspection results. We develop numerous customized hardware systems, including the entire robotic platform, actuators, sensors, inspection payloads, charging systems, and all related ANYbotics electrical hardware.
Your Contributions
Design, implement, and deploy state-of-the-art AI-driven perception algorithms, including deep learning-based depth estimation, visual perception, and semantic understanding
Lead research and integration of novel machine learning models to significantly enhance robot perception and autonomy
Collaborate closely with hardware, software, and product teams to ensure seamless integration and optimization of perception systems on real-world robotic platforms
Develop and maintain high-quality, efficient, and scalable software architectures in C++ and Python
Continuously evaluate and improve model accuracy, computational efficiency, and reliability through rigorous testing and validation protocols
Stay on top of cutting-edge research developments and effectively translate these into tangible product enhancements
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
Your Profile
Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Robotics, AI, or a related technical discipline
Excellent at designing and deploying computer vision algorithms and AI perception models for robotics or autonomous systems
Excellent expertise in machine learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow), and proficiency with modern software development practices
Strong at writing C++ & Python for machine learning, writing high-quality, efficient, maintainable, and scalable code
Strong grasp on how to apply recent research advances to industrial use cases
Strong at exercising technical leadership, owns complex technical goals. Scopes and delegates work, guides execution, and aligns efforts with strategic outcomes
Capable of training others in the state of the art of machine learning for robotics
Capable of formulating clear requirements and explaining complex problems to others
Capable of understanding and explain to others the challenges that come from working with multimodal sensor fusion

Experience with ROS
Experience with CUDA, GPU programming, and optimization of neural networks for real-time applications
Experience with the deployment of computer vision systems in production environments for robotic applications
