Job Summary

The Supply Manager is responsible for overseeing the provisioning, maintenance, and repair activities for supply operations, ensuring the effective distribution of goods and supplies. This position involves managing staff and coordinating technical supply management tasks, such as inventory management, cataloging, and property utilization for depot, local, or other supply activities. The Supply Manager analyzes contractual documents, technical data, and customer maintenance practices to determine spares provisioning and maintenance requirements. They also conduct inventory audits, identify discrepancies, and assist in logistics planning to streamline the distribution of supplies. The role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a deep understanding of supply chain processes.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of technical supply management functions, including inventory management, storage, cataloging, and property utilization.

  • Analyze and interpret contractual documents, customer data, and technical reports to determine maintenance, spares provisioning, and supply requirements.

  • Develop and implement logistics plans to optimize the distribution of goods and supplies.

  • Assign tasks to staff based on commodity areas or functions, ensuring tasks are appropriately matched to the complexity and difficulty level.

  • Conduct regular inventory audits, ensuring accuracy and identifying discrepancies in inventory records.

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with inventory management practices and established procedures.

  • Supervise the Document Control function, if applicable, ensuring proper documentation and record-keeping.

  • Work closely with other departments and stakeholders to align supply operations with customer requirements and business needs.

  • Provide regular updates and reports on inventory levels, procurement status, and supply chain issues to senior management.

  • Implement corrective actions to resolve supply chain issues, inventory discrepancies, or operational inefficiencies.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in supply chain management, logistics, or technical supply operations.

  • Proven experience managing inventory, storage, cataloging, and property utilization processes.

  • Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles, contractual analysis, and logistics planning.

  • Experience in supervising staff, assigning tasks, and managing day-to-day supply operations.

  • Ability to conduct inventory audits and resolve discrepancies in inventory records.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in overseeing the Document Control function within a supply chain environment.

  • Certification or training in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.

  • Previous experience working with military or DoD supply systems and operations.
