Job Summary
The Station Chief is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all operations within a fire station. This role involves managing personnel, ensuring operational readiness, and providing leadership in emergency response situations. The Station Chief is responsible for developing and implementing operational policies and procedures while ensuring that all safety standards are met. They also play a key role in resource management, training, and maintaining effective communication with all stakeholders. The position requires a highly experienced individual capable of managing both personnel and equipment in high-stress, dynamic environments.

Roles and Responsibilities
Supervise and manage fire station personnel, ensuring the proper staffing of shifts and maintaining operational readiness.
Coordinate emergency response operations, ensuring efficient and timely response to all incidents.
Develop, implement, and enforce operational procedures, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Conduct regular training and drills for personnel to ensure preparedness in a variety of emergency situations.
Oversee station maintenance, including the inspection and repair of equipment and apparatus.
Prepare and manage budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to financial guidelines.
Ensure the safety and well-being of all personnel through appropriate safety protocols and wellness programs.
Maintain accurate records of incidents, personnel, training, and equipment usage.
Liaise with local authorities, emergency management teams, and other agencies to coordinate fire protection efforts.
Investigate incidents and accidents, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and providing reports as required.
Basic Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years of experience in fire service operations, including at least 5 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
Certification as Fire Officer II or equivalent, Fire Instructor I, Fire Inspector I, and Hazardous Materials Incident Commander.
Proven experience in resource management, including budget preparation, personnel management, and equipment maintenance.
Strong knowledge of fire safety regulations, emergency response protocols, and incident command systems.
Ability to work under pressure and make critical decisions in high-stress situations.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification in Airport Firefighting or equivalent specialized training.
Experience managing large-scale emergency operations and coordinating with multiple agencies or jurisdictions.
Additional certifications in leadership, such as Fire Officer III or higher, or incident command systems training (e.g., ICS 400).
