Job Summary

The Installation Energy Manager will oversee the energy management and optimization of energy systems during the installation phase of projects. This role is critical in ensuring energy-efficient systems are integrated into construction and installation processes, meeting both sustainability goals and regulatory standards. The manager will collaborate with project teams, contractors, and clients to ensure smooth energy system installation and operation. They will also be responsible for identifying energy-saving opportunities and implementing best practices. The role demands technical expertise, proactive planning, and the ability to solve problems efficiently during the energy system installation phase.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead energy management activities during the installation of energy systems in new and retrofit projects.
  • Oversee the planning, design, and installation of energy-efficient systems (HVAC, lighting, renewable energy systems, etc.).
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure that energy systems are installed per design specifications and comply with energy codes and regulations.
  • Monitor and verify that the energy systems are correctly calibrated, optimized, and functional at project completion.
  • Conduct energy audits and assessments to identify energy-saving opportunities during installation.
  • Provide energy performance reports and recommendations for system optimization.
  • Coordinate with local utility companies to ensure efficient energy usage and integration with local energy infrastructure.
  • Ensure all installations align with sustainability goals, LEED certification requirements, or other green building standards.
  • Develop and implement energy-saving strategies during the installation process, including the use of energy-efficient materials and technologies.
  • Conduct training and provide technical guidance to installation teams on energy-efficient installation practices and safety procedures.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy Management, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in energy management, energy system installation, or related areas.
  • Certification in Energy Management (e.g., Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or equivalent).
  • Proven experience working on energy-efficient projects with a focus on energy system installations.
  • Strong technical knowledge of energy systems (HVAC, lighting, renewable energy, etc.) and energy efficiency standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Energy Management, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • Additional certifications or training in green building standards (e.g., LEED, BREEAM).
  • Experience with project management software and energy modeling tools (e.g., EnergyPlus, eQUEST).
