Exercises significant independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives. May provide mentoring and guidance to lower-level employees.
As a member of the Quality Engineering team, you will be responsible to ensure new and existing products and services within the development cycle are reliable, easy to use, and functioning as documented. Candidate must be detail-oriented, flexible, eager to learn, and committed to becoming an integral part of our support of the HP Personal Systems Application Software organization.
Responsibilities:
Leads multiple project teams of other software quality assurance engineers and internal and outsourced development partners responsible for all stages of quality assurance for complex products and platforms, including testing strategy, analysis, coding, results evaluation, and proposed corrective actions.
Manages and expands relationships with internal and outsourced development and quality assurance partners on software and firmware design and development.
Perform root cause analysis and/or create specific recommendations and action plans to reduce defects and improve product quality and customer experience.
Work with cross-functional partners in R & D, Customer support, Marketing, and/or Design to identify and improve the solutions in the areas identified.
Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with quality assurance guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality and mitigate failure risk.
Communicate escalations and issue analysis to product stakeholders; collaborate with management and internal development partners to recommend and implement changes to products, processes, or business practices to resolve escalated issues, produce solutions, and ensure adherence to established product roadmaps and schedules.
Provides domain-specific expertise and overall software quality assurance leadership and perspective to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities.
Drives innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in the software quality assurance organization.
Perform root cause analysis and/or create specific recommendations and action plans to reduce defects and improve product quality and customer experience.
Embedded Feature Testing
Work directly with developers to understand current features in development and how best to test those features early in the lifecycle.
Qualifying developer commits/pull requests during code review validations.
Hosts project team Agile and SCRUM activities such as Daily Standups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews & Retrospectives.
Engages in product feature grooming meetings and sessions.
Could be required to host and facilitate Bug Triage meetings with the greater Product team which includes Bug filtering/combing, clean-up, investigations, and quality control.
Be the voice and advocate for product quality for the installed base and new product releases.
Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members.
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
Typically, 5-9 years’ experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
Extensive experience with multiple software quality assurance tools and processes.
Evaluating forms and processes for software testing and methodology, including writing and execution of test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools.
Expert experience with automation tools and languages like Appium, Java, Selenium, Python or C# for use with automated test case development and CI/CD support
Excellent scripting experience using Powershell, Batch.
Experience with backend service testing.
Experience using project and Bug management tools such as JIRA and/or ADO.
Experience using the test case management tool TestRail.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience in overall architecture and software design for products and solutions.
Experience with design and integration of software running on multiple platform types.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.
Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at senior management levels.

The base pay range for this role is $104,800 to $158,250 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to US candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
