AI and Autonomy Product Specialist

Major Purpose

Represents the voice of the customer to the product team with a deep understanding of customer’s product needs and what technology-based capabilities are required to meet those needs. Maintains and prioritizes the product backlog to ensure that the team is working on features that maximize business value and deliver necessary functionality to their customers. Collaborates with the business, Engineering Managers and product teams, to define product functionality and priorities. Uses global processes to thoroughly understand the scope, complexity and dependencies of the business and what product functionality is needed. Communicates with the Product Manager to ensure alignment across products within a product family. Is responsible for the end-to-end product lifecycle, from concept to decommission. This level typically has responsibility for up to 2 scrum teams; Product complexity and impact (Measured Business Value) are medium; Understands technical topics at a conceptual level as well as the systems and data that enable major capabilities and drives innovation; Requires deep understanding of the inner-workings of the technology products and an underlying understanding of the technologies leveraged to deliver those products.

Major Duties

  • Analyze and evaluate the feasibility and relevance of proposed complex products and services and develop and amend, as necessary, with guidance from senior colleagues. May also be responsible for supervising activities performed by a product development or specialist team.
  • May include such responsibilities as supporting internal customers or helping senior colleagues manage internal client relationships.
  • Explore issues or needs, establishing potential causes and barriers, as well as related issues.
  • Develop and/or deliver a plan for significant aspects of internal communications with guidance from senior colleagues.
  • Monitor all aspects of a product life cycle, including long- and short-term development and marketing. Perform analyses to stay abreast of trends in the marketplace and ensure the product's competitive position.
  • Deliver defined features, functionality, or outcomes from a designated part of the development/engineering program, selecting the best available approach within established systems.
  • Set clear objectives for each sales call or meeting; tailor standard materials to make presentations to decision-makers and influencers within the customer organization; and ask relevant questions to gather information, to evaluate the customer's level of interest, and to identify and respond to areas requiring further information or explanation.
  • Complete research and analyze data to develop and/or support a sound understanding of customer segments, trends, needs, and expectations.
  • Develop and/or deliver a plan for significant aspects of external communications with guidance from senior colleagues.

Job Summary: The AI and Autonomy Product Specialist will empower employees of John Deere to engage with automation and AI technologies as citizen developers or makers. You will provide a focus on identifying AI-driven opportunities to enhance efficiency and innovation in job roles and work processes of John Deere employees and its business functions. You will fuel growth through AI and citizen development mastery, increase the integration and utilization of AI with enterprise knowledge workers, and chart the course from efficiency gains to economic value.

Your responsibilities:

  • Engage with customers to understand their needs and how they can effectively use AI in their jobs and business functions.
  • Develop and implement product management strategies to ensure the successful integration of AI technologies.
  • Create and execute go-to-market strategies to engage users and roll out AI products successfully including capabilities like the microsoft power platform and microsoft copilot.
  • Understand the technical aspects of AI products and technologies to assist users with basic capabilities.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure customer feedback and requirements are incorporated into product development.
  • Collaborate with users to develop simple AI solutions tailored to their specific needs

Our requirements:

  • Experience in product management, including market research, product planning, and customer engagement
  • Strong understanding of AI technologies and their applications in various business functions.
  • Experience in developing and executing effective go-to-market strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with customers and stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate with users to support them with their efforts to develop tailored AI and Autonomy solutions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, and sales.
