The Administrator leads the strategic operations and integration of a Mayo Clinic Education portfolio of emerging technological innovations and educational initiatives to advance AI education for all Mayo Clinic staff.
Key Responsibilities:
• Leads strategic planning and operational management for the business units of Immersive Learning Design, Advanced Digital Education, and The Harper AI Education in Medicine Program.
• Develops and supports the advancement of an institutional framework ("a unified front door") for AI education access and delivery.
• Directs the integration of innovative learning technologies (immersive + AI) into educational curricula and pathways across Mayo Clinic.
• Oversees the design and development of advanced learning platforms and competency frameworks aligned with Mayo Clinic standards and values.
• Builds and manages collaborative relationships with academic, clinical, research, and administrative partners to ensure program alignment and success.
• Manages and develops the personnel and resources within the portfolio, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation in educational technology.
The Administrator for Immersive Learning, Digital Education, and the Harper AI Education Program spearheads the evolution of healthcare education at Mayo Clinic, contributing to the strategic vision and providing executive oversight essential for advancing cutting-edge educational technologies across the Education Shield. This pivotal role directs a significant portfolio encompassing three core business units—Immersive Learning Design (ILD), Advanced Digital Education (ADE), and The Harper Family Foundation AI Education in Medicine Program. The Administrator’s leadership is instrumental in shaping strategy, championing innovation within these dynamic areas, and ensuring their integrated efforts contribute profoundly to Mayo Clinic’s world-class educational mission by preparing the workforce for the future of healthcare.
Serving as a crucial integrator, the Administrator strategically bridges advanced academic innovations and emerging technologies with Mayo Clinic’s established educational structures. The Administrator fosters an environment where expert teams are empowered with the resources, strategic direction, and support necessary to achieve excellence in designing and delivering next generation learning experiences. Reporting to the Senior Division Chair for Immersive and Experiential Learning, the Administrator drives progress through influential collaboration, forging strong, productive partnerships with senior leaders across Sites and Shields. This requires working closely with physician and administrative leaders to orchestrate a cohesive, synergistic approach to advanced learning throughout Mayo Clinic. Success hinges on navigating complex organizational landscapes, building consensus for strategic initiatives, skillfully stewarding resources (financial and personnel) and establishing robust evaluation methods to demonstrate the transformative impact of these innovative educational programs. This position is a combination of remote and onsite support work. Individual must live within driving distance to the Mayo Clinic Rochester campus.
**Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Also, Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.
Master's degree with a minimum of 3 years’ experience with progressively increasing leadership responsibility (five years preferred) in healthcare management or related industry experience to include people, projects or programs required.
Demonstrated competency in leadership, people management, operations, finance, communication, innovation, and change management methodologies.
Operational experience must include demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment with physician, scientist, educator, administrative, supervisory, and allied health staff.
