About the team

Join a full-stack AI/ML team at Kinaxis that delivers complete functionality from the platform to the solution, which functions in the supply and demand space for verticals such as Retail, Consumer Packaged Goods, Life Sciences, and others. This includes problems in the space of forecasting, optimization, replenishment, recommendation, explainability, and more. Our solutions delight customers worldwide.

What you will do

We’re looking for a Senior Software Developer, who thrives at the intersection of machine learning and software engineering—someone who sees AI not as a layer, but as a first-class system component.
  • You’ll contribute across the full development lifecycle, from idea to deployment and beyond. Whether it’s building intelligent forecasting systems, optimizing global replenishment models, or integrating explainable AI into user-facing workflows, you’ll solve critical problems that touch millions of lives.
  • This isn’t just about calling ML APIs. It’s about building AI products end-to-end, at scale, with all the real-world messiness and architectural complexity that entails.
  • Own complex AI features from design to delivery, collaborating across product, data science, and engineering teams.
  • Build scalable ML pipelines that operate on massive, fast-moving data streams.
  • Implement and optimize models for forecasting, classification, recommendation, NLP, and decision optimization.
  • Contribute to architectural decisions, from microservice design to orchestration in Kubernetes.
  • Drive code quality through code reviews, unit tests, and CI/CD practices—you’re a quality champion, notjust a code generator.
  • Set up new development tools and infrastructure (Docker, Kubernetes, cloud services) to streamline processes.
  • Mentor and learn alongside passionate teammates in a high-trust, high-impact environment.
  • Stay current with best practices in AI/ML and software architecture—and help shape what “great” lookslike at Kinaxis.
  • Log and eliminate complex or subtle bugs in the product to ensure we deliver a great quality product.

What we are looking for

  • Master's or PhD in Computer Science or related field, with a focus in artificial intelligence, machine learning, or a related specialization.
  • 5+ years in AI/ML enterprise software development; experience leading complex, high-impact features.
  • Solid Python development (OOP, design patterns, data structures), including debugging and performance optimization.
  • Deep understanding of algorithms and data structures related to ML pipelines and large-scale data processing.
  • Proven ability to train, fine-tune, evaluate, and deploy ML models—understanding the full ML lifecycle.
  • Experience with machine learning algorithms for forecasting, clustering, classification, recommendation systems, NLP, and others.
  • Hands-on expertise with popular ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, XGBoost, LightGBM) and data manipulation libraries (Pandas, SQL).
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) in *nix environments.
  • Experience with continuous integration, continuous delivery, continuous deployment and other modern DevOps practices.
  • Solid grasp of software engineering best practices including testing, version control, observability.
  • Experience working with major cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Ability to plan and drive features from requirements gathering, through design, implementation and to release and maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of software testing. Familiar with and able to compare the values and uses of several testing frameworks and methodologies.
  • Proven analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to explain complex concepts clearly.
  • Leadership & Mentoring: Provide guidance on best practices to junior developers and help shape team culture.
  • Collaboration: Participate in cross-team discussions, offering informed opinions and bridging gaps between product and engineering.
  • Communication: Articulate complex technical topics for diverse audiences; give and receive constructive feedback.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a fast-paced environment, open to evolving technologies, and embrace continuous learning.

Nice to have

  • Experience with workflows (e.g. Argo workflows)
  • Supply chain domain knowledge
  • Retail and CPG business domain knowledge
  • SaaS, multi-tenant and AI/ML platforms development experience (microservice frameworks, queuing systems, event-based processing and web services).
  • Experience of distributed computing architectures (e.g Spark, Hive)

Work With Impact: Our platform directly helps companies power the world’s supply chains. We see the results of what we do out in the world every day—when we see store shelves stocked, when medications are available for our loved ones, and so much more.

Social Responsibility at Kinaxis: Our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee weighs in on hiring practices, talent assessment training materials, and mandatory training on unconscious bias and inclusion fundamentals. Sustainability is key to what we do and we’re committed to net-zero operations strategy for the long term. We are involved in our communities and support causes where we can make the most impact.

  • Flexible vacation and Kinaxis Days (company-wide day off on the last Friday of every month)
  • Flexible work options
  • Physical and mental well-being programs
