Job Description

We are looking for an exceptional Data Scientist to work with our cross-functional team and join our renowned community of skilled professionals in the dynamic field of information technology.

The Core Networks & First Line Maintenance (T-CNF) unit is responsible for the core network: from planning to development to operation - we are responsible end-to-end and provide the functions and capacities in the core network in the highest quality, nationally and internationally.

The Super Squad Automation and Data Analytics is a competence center for IT and automation within T-CNF. We construct and manage solutions for automating infrastructure rollout as well as IP address management, while also establishing the groundwork for data-driven decision-making through our data analytics platform. We are currently taking over a new responsibility to modernize the data center infrastructure management of T-CNF and affiliated organizations.

In this context, you will develop solutions to automatically extract information from floor and building plans using ML and rule-based image recognition approaches. You will collaborate closely with other Data Scientists, Software and DevOps engineers.

Your daily tasks:

  • Drive the development of algorithms for data extraction from Visio files.
  • Create and prototype concepts and break them down into user stories
  • Support the integration of the developed services into an existing environment.
  • To guarantee a high standard of quality, contribute to the test strategy and make decisions on automation technologies.
  • Create ad-hoc data analysis and reports for stakeholders and users
  • Work in an agile and team context.

Qualifications

  • University degree in computer science or mathematics or physics or a similar qualification
  • Minimum 3 years experience as a Data Scientist working in the field of image recognition
  • Strong command of Python and popular Data Science related libraries (eg. Pandas)
  • At least 3 years practical experience in Python with Machine Learning Libraries (Pytorch, Keras, Tensorflow)
  • Experience in SQL
  • Advanced experience with version control systems (GitLab)
  • Experience in agile methodologies
  • Team spirit and the desire to accept diverse challenges
  • Good analytical and conceptional skills
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken

Advantages:

  • Experience with Kubernetes, Linux, Docker
  • Knowledge of German helpful
  • Experience in CI and writing test cases
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Visio
  • Know How in automation engineering
  • Experience in development projects in cross-functional and international teams
  • Skills/Interest in geometric topics like coordinate transformations
  • Familiarity with code analysis tools
