Position Overview: Brandeis University's Graduate Professional Studies (GPS) invites applications for an Adjunct Faculty position to teach Ethical Leadership and AI Governance, a 3-credit online course within the AI-Driven Leadership Program. This course is designed to prepare leaders to navigate the complex ethical and governance challenges associated with deploying AI technologies in organizations. The instructor will deliver high-quality course content that integrates theoretical knowledge, practical strategies, and real-world case studies to equip students with the tools to address ethical dilemmas and establish robust AI governance practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Course Development and Delivery: Design and teach course material focusing on key topics, including ethical considerations in AI development and use, bias detection and mitigation in AI systems, establishing governance frameworks, and regulatory compliance and data privacy issues.
Case Studies and Applications: Integrate real-life examples of ethical dilemmas in AI applications and showcase companies that have successfully implemented governance policies.
Student Engagement: Foster a collaborative and inclusive online learning environment, providing mentorship and support to students with diverse backgrounds and professional goals.
Assessment: Develop assignments and assessments that measure students' ability to apply ethical frameworks and governance strategies in real-world scenarios.
Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with emerging trends, regulations, and best practices in AI ethics and governance, ensuring course content remains relevant and impactful.
Qualifications:
Required:
Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Ethics, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
Substantial experience addressing ethical issues and governance challenges in AI implementation within organizations.
Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, data privacy laws, and bias mitigation strategies for AI systems.
Effective communication and teaching skills in an online learning environment.
Preferred:
Previous teaching experience at the graduate level or professional training sessions on ethics or governance topics.
Familiarity with online education platforms and course development tools.
Published work or professional presentations in the field of AI ethics and governance.
