Field AI is seeking a rigorous and diligent Software Quality Assurance Engineer to play a vital role in the development of highly advanced robotic and AI systems, by ensuring that the software products meet the highest standards of quality and functionality. The role involves developing and implementing test processes, methodologies, and tools to identify any software issues and regressions. Your contribution is essential to reliably deliver the products to customers and enhance the company value. What You Will Get To Do

  • Test planning
  • Design comprehensive test plans to fulfill the standards and requirements of software products.
  • Develop test cases by outlining objectives, scopes, criteria, and procedures.

  • Execute test procedures, either manually or automatically, including unit test, functional test, and system test.
  • Develop and run tests based on simulation tools and test data.
  • Operate hardware platforms to execute integration tests on a real robot.

  • Design and implement best practices and standards for QA workflow for highly dynamic fast-paced projects
  • Train team members on quality assurance processes and best practices

  • Develop and maintain tools to automate QA pipeline
  • Develop testbeds for hardware in the loop testing
  • Develop CI/CD systems to allow rapid and reliable software releases

  • Ensure the software products and processing pipelines adhere to any compliance and regulatory requirements

  • User acceptance testing
  • Design, implement, and execute testing of user-facing systems including but not limited to web applications
  • Plan and execute tests to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality reports to the clients.

  • Deployment Support
  • Collaborate with the operations team and triage issues in the field deployment.
  • Analyze and effectively communicate issues to the deployment team.

  • Performance tracking and analysis
  • Measure the performance of robotic autonomy and data pipeline.
  • Track performance over time and identify the domain to improve.

  • Reporting and cross-functional collaboration
  • Collaborate closely with software developers, project managers, and the operations team to define clear and comprehensive test objectives.
  • Document test plans, protocols, and results to be used as a future reference

What You Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in projects relevant to robotics, AI, and computer science/engineering.
  • Proficiency in Bash, Python, C++, Git, Linux, ROS

What Will Set You Apart

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in the software quality assurance process, either in robotics or a relevant field.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and experience navigating complex software systems.
  • Experience collaborating with both technical and non-technical team members across functional areas.
  • Strong work ethics, highly self-motivated, and able to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance best practices and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Experience with CI/CD, AWS, Docker
