Job Description 

We’re adding to our global sales and consulting team for sensory research within NIQ. With rapid growth in traditional consumer testing and Sensory Science approaches, along with technology advancements with AI models, we are looking for a Western Europe Sensory Sales Lead to grow our business, consult and delight our clients, as we transform the world of Sensory Science.

NIQ has partners with the world’s leading clients in CPG, Personal Care and Home Care. We have grown rapidly over the past four years to be the leading agency in all aspects of Product Development, whether sensory-led testing, AI product development, CLT/ iHUT testing, or forecasting in-market success with new products and concepts, using the ‘gold standard’ BASES forecasting models.

This is a career defining opportunity for an experienced Sensory researcher, to be a member of the team leading the sensory industry into the AI-era. You will lead Western Europe Sensory Research, as we accelerate the growth and capabilities of our unique solutions, including the use of our bespoke Sensory AI models. This role reports to our Global Sensory AI Sales Leader, part of NIQ Innovation, powered by BASES.

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the sales and delivery of our AI Sensory Solutions in Western Europe, consulting with clients and R&D/ Technical teams, to transform their product development process and effectiveness. 
  • Be a member of our global team of world class sensory experts, consulting with clients throughout their product development journeys, with proven and validated solutions.
  • Consult with our teams and clients, as we evolve our solutions, adding additional value, new services and combined solutions utilizing the full power of NIQ Strategic Analytics & Insights, and the wider NIQ organisation
  • The team will grow considerably across the world. Be ready for a role that morphs and changes as we build a world class Sensory AI practice. 
  • Build strong relationships with our wider sales teams throughout NIQ, our delivery experts and our clients, identifying opportunities to build high impact projects, incorporating our leading-edge AI tools, along with qualitative & quantitative solutions. 
  • Design and oversee the delivery of AI led Sensory projects that build great relationships with our clients.
  • Develop white papers, thought leadership and events with our Marketing Teams, focused on the added value of our solutions for Product formulation developers.
  • Have the proven ability to influence peers and colleagues both inside and outside of the NIQ organisation.

You’ll have a profound interest in sensory science, innovation and AI, and a passion for advancing sensory science as a practice.

With excellent presentation skills, you will be able to converse easily with R&D teams across our clients, helping them develop the next generation of products that will delight consumers, and grow sales.

Qualifications 

  • 5+ years’ experience in Sensory Science, ideally with an agency or within client companies 
  • Relevant experience with Sensory techniques & solutions with Consumer-Packaged Goods
  • Have a passion for taking Sensory Science into a new era, as AI opens the potential for new, powerful solutions for all clients, regardless of their size
  • Experience in working across geographies
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Effective in communications, influencing & negotiation   
  • Excellent awareness of market conditions and client business environment   
  • Demonstrated record of business development and client partnership   
  • Educated to degree level, ideally with a Food/ Sensory Science focus
