The Technical Documentations team is a dedicated Engineering Learning Cloud division group. It drives developer engagement for cloud infrastructure services. We support and foster a library of over a thousand documents. This library houses a variety of Linux and Cloud topics. We inform our customers and build a better developer community.

As a Senior II Documentation and Training Specialist Lead, you'll create and maintain technical documentation for Akamai's security, compute, and delivery products. This role involves close collaboration with global SMEs and engineering teams.

As a Senior II Documentation and Training Specialist Lead, you will be responsible for:

• Mentoring writers with people and project management skills, consistently delivering projects on time.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather accurate and detailed information.
• Having a foundational understanding of technical concepts, with hands-on experience in both software and hardware documentation.
• Leading by example in creating and maintaining various content typesinstallation manuals, user guides, API references, training slides, and video materials.
• Adepting at managing multiple concurrent deadlines in an agile environment, balancing documentation initiatives effectively.
• Using analytics and feedback loops to assess documentation impact, improve content quality, and ensure relevance across audiences.
• Having excellent writing, editing, and presentation skills; works with SMEs to validate content for clarity, accuracy, and alignment with standards.
• Acting as subject matter expert on department style and format

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have a Bachelor's Degree in Technical Writing, Computer Science, or another related field or its equivalent
• Have 8+ years of technical writing experience, and 23 years as a team lead.
• Have experience working on an agile software development team across remote and globally distributed teams
• Have experience supporting multiple development teams and deliverables in a demanding environment with multiple competing priorities
• Be experienced with industry-standard tools for software development and documentation, including wikis, issue trackers, diagramming, project management, version control, and code editors.
