Get to Know the Team

Grab's supply planning team is dedicated to enhancing the experience of our driver partners, ensuring they can drive smartly and effectively. As the data science team, we will leverage AI technologies to provide driver partners with strategic, data-driven instructions and incentives, so as to optimize the supply utilization given the various market conditions.

Get to Know the Role

This position will be based onsite in Malaysia. As Senior Data Scientist, you will look into the driver-facing problems and transform these user / business problems into DS problems. You will use big data to derive actionable insights and design solutions. You will develop deep learning, reinforcement learning, and optimisation models to solve challenges related to supply repositioning, activation, and incentivisation within Grab's marketplace.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• You will design, develop, and maintain robust and reusable automated test scripts for functional, regression, and integration testing of web, mobile and API-based applications.
• You will build and scale test automation frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Selenium, REST-assured) to support scalable, stable, and high-quality automation coverage.
• You will collaborate with the development and product teams to understand requirements and translate them into automated test scenarios.
• You will proactively identify gaps in test coverage and implement strategies to enhance test reliability, speed, and depth.
• You will debug, diagnose, and isolate issues, working closely with engineering teams to ensure quick resolutions.
• You will integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins) to enable fast feedback and release cycles.
• You will define and document test plans, test cases, and acceptance criteria with a focus on automation-first principles.
• You will stay updated on industry tools, trends, and best practices, continuously upskilling to advance automation maturity within the team.
• You will contribute to manual testing as needed in complex or exploratory test scenarios (e.g., edge cases or first-time flows).
• You will support performance, load, and security test automation, either directly or in collaboration with specialized teams.

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• What Essential Skills You Will Need :

• A degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology or related fields.
• 2+ years of experience as QA Engineer/Automation Engineer or Software Development Test Engineer (SDET).
• Have hands-on coding experience with test automation, including script languages (Python) or other languages (Java, Go etc.) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) frameworks such as Selenium, Cucumber, JBehave, and Serenity.
• Create modular, reusable, and data-driven test scripts to maximize test coverage and reduce redundancy.
• Implement automation testing for UI, API, and end-to-end workflows across multiple environments.
