QED.ai (https://qed.ai) is a tech company focused on public health and food security in Sub-Saharan Africa. We build the digital infrastructure and artificial intelligence that empowers the intersection of aid and scientific inquiry, including epidemiological surveillance of HIV and malaria, and in-situ nutrient analysis of crops and soils using spectroscopy and computer vision. Our funding comes from philanthropic and governmental organizations such as the Global Fund, CDC, USAID, and the Gates Foundation.

We are looking for a ScanForm Field Coordinator.

Scope of Work

  • Coordinate the deployment of ScanForm, working with in-country MOH and IP teams to ensure smooth roll-out, including testing, multiple levels of training, distribution, and monitoring and evaluation.

  • Use diplomacy to establish good relationships with all parties and diffuse issues as they arise.

  • Compose field reports and summaries.

  • Identify problems, diagnose causes, and resolve or delegate tickets to appropriate technical staff.

  • Liaise with government to support data use and monitoring and evaluation to drive public policy.

Basic Requirements

  • Residency in Malawi, Cameroon, Nigeria, South Africa.

  • Experience with field work and coordination of field teams.

  • Fluency in multiple languages, including both English and local languages in the country of residence.

  • Emotional intelligence and strong face-to-face communications skills.

  • Experience and comfort with making public presentations.

  • High proficiency in speaking, reading, and composing clear and correct English.

  • English typing speed of at least 40 words per minute.

  • Strong logical reasoning and attention to detail.

  • Experience with composing field reports and summaries.

  • Experience working with Excel spreadsheets.

  • Ability to listen carefully to our clients and communicate their desires accurately back to the team.

  • Ability to juggle substantial quantities of facts and figures.

  • Enthusiasm for technology and optimization.

  • Highly preferred full-time employment of at least 40 hours per week. Promising students with exceptional skills should contribute at least 24 hrs/week.

  • Critical thinking skills, expressiveness, and team-oriented attitude.

Nice to haves

  • Domain expertise or experience working in public health on the ground.

  • Some experience with monitoring and evaluation, or basic programming, or basic statistics.

  • Experience with video screencasting.
