The Real Estate and Workplace Services team at OpenAI is pivotal in crafting and maintaining the physical environments that fuel our innovation and growth. This team ensures our facilities align with our dynamic business objectives. We manage daily operations, optimize workspace designs, and manage leasing and planning for our real estate portfolio. With a strong focus on sustainability and efficiency, the team works closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to create spaces that not only reflect our brand's identity and culture but also enhance employee productivity and well-being. About the Role

As a Workplace Site Lead you will be the glue of the building and all those who function within the walls. You will be responsible for building out workplace operational programs by collaborating with our Workplace and Real Estate team. You will align with other site leads in our HQ to keep a consistent expectation across our campus no matter what team or location an employee belongs to. You will also help maintain workplace-related documentation and publish relevant docs and comms to the larger org, as well as help the Workplace operations team meet their standards of workplace excellence. 

This role is based in San Francisco, CA and is required to be in the office 5 days a week.

In this role, you will:

  • Foster strong relationships with key internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

  • Collaborate on cross-functional projects, policies, and workplace initiatives to promote a unified employee experience across all sites.

  • Support workplace programs, including daily food operations, event management, and other employee services that contribute to a positive work environment.

  • Lead and manage key projects that address the evolving needs of a hyper-growth workspace, from construction to office redesigns and more.

  • Oversee change management processes, helping teams adapt to organizational scaling and frequent shifts in operational priorities.

  • Coordinate office maintenance and resources, ensuring that supplies, equipment, and facilities are properly managed to support daily operations.

  • Serve as a connector between program departments such as Food, Events, Transportation, FF&E, Design & Construction, and other workplace-focused groups, ensuring cohesive and effective collaboration.

  • Are highly organized with a talent for multitasking, able to prioritize a diverse range of responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Have proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and other workplace management tools like ticketing systems, visitor management, and space planning software.

  • Excel in using data and workplace technology to back up operational policies and decisions.

  • Are passionate about building and scaling workplace programs from the ground up and enjoy being part of a rapidly growing, mission-driven organization.
