Bachelor's or Master's degree in relevant Engineering discipline.

• Certifications in relevant automation platforms preferred.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Required Skills:

• A strong understanding of engineering principles and tools in at least three of the following areas:
• Mechanical design and build
• Electrical design and build
• Robotics design and programming
• Control systems and programming
• Data systems design and implementation
• Machine Vision design and implementation
• Machine assembly and installation
• Software Development and integration
• Validation process design and execution
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey technical information effectively

• Strong ability to maintain accuracy in work
• Strong level of risk management and mitigation strategies
• Strong ability to independently execute tasks

Software Platform Preference(s):

• RoboDK
• Fusion 360

A Typical Day May Consist of…

• Selecting the correct robotic components (Robot Arms, Robot Controllers, End-Effectors, etc.) for safety, the environment, and system requirements
• Selecting the correct type and configuration (Ceiling Mounted SCARA, 6-Axis Collaborative, etc.) of robot to meet the system requirements
• Performing calculations and simulation on components for load capacity, cycle time, and reach
• Selecting the correct sensors and actuators for robotic applications, ensuring they meet safety, environmental, and system requirements
• Maintaining a Bill of Materials (BoM) for robotic components that need to be purchased
• Designing the layout of robotic systems in Fusion 360 • Verifying via simulation in RoboDK the expect cycle time, reach, collisions, and order of cycle operations
• Program the robot (in what ever specific environment is required) to perform its cycle and interface with the control system
• Teaching waypoints to the robot such that the robotics system correctly integrates to the full system and assembly
• Specifying the correct communication protocols and wiring based on industry and project requirements
• Developing test plans against the robotic design to ensure the safety and performance of the robotic system and components
• Ensuring designs meet industry and regulatory standards
• Working alongside other engineering disciplines (electrical, mechanical, controls, vision, etc.) to ensure that all components will integrate and operate together as expected
• Supporting the integration of Machine Vision Solutions specifications, code, test procedures, and associated documentation deliverables
