We are seeking a hands-on, operationally focused Project Manager to lead a fast-paced, on-site data collection project in La Jolla, CA. This role will be responsible for the overall execution, team performance, client engagement, and data integrity of the project. You will supervise the team and act as the primary point of contact with internal and external stakeholders, and drive quality and accountability across all aspects of execution.

You will be instrumental in creating structure, reinforcing standards, and ensuring we meet project targets and client SLAs.

Key Responsibilities:

· Own full life cycle project management—from planning and kickoff to execution and closeout

· Supervise day-to-day activities of project staff, including Associate PMs, moderators, and assistants

· Drive accountability, enforce process discipline, and deliver performance feedback across the team

· Monitor data collection operations to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to protocol

· Serve as the lead client contact for project updates, escalations, and delivery assurance

· Develop and execute creative recruiting strategies, especially for hard-to-reach demographics

· Lead daily stand-ups, status checks, and coordination meetings with internal teams

· Create and maintain dashboards, trackers, and reporting tools to provide visibility on KPIs

· Identify operational risks, propose solutions, and drive implementation

· Ensure project documentation is consistently updated and audit-ready

· Train, onboard, and mentor project team members as needed

Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements

· 3–5 years of experience managing large-scale projects, ideally in data collection, operations, or research environments

· Experience supervising multi-level teams and navigating client-facing roles

· Strong command of project planning tools, spreadsheets, and dashboards (e.g. Excel, Sheets, project management platforms)

· Comfort working in dynamic environments and solving day-to-day executional challenges

· Ability to give direct feedback, drive accountability, and enforce standards

· Proficient in data monitoring, process optimization, and operational quality assurance

· Excellent communication, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills

· Creative problem-solver, especially around recruiting and participant engagement

· Experience working on-site with shifting schedules and priorities

· Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred

Nice to Have

· Experience managing contractors or third-party vendors

· Familiarity with AI training data or human-in-the-loop systems

· Fluency in multiple languages or cultural recruiting experience

Employment type: This is a full-time position, requiring 40 hours per week for a duration of six months. The role will be contracted through our Employer of Record (EOR).
