Our Storage Team is responsible for developing and maintaining Akamai's cloud storage platform for Linode. Our enterprise grade solution is an essential element to Akamai's Connected Cloud platform. We provide a scalable and secure storage solution for Linode's customers to build their businesses.

As an Engineering Manager you will lead a team building highly usable, reliable and scalable storage solutions. Our platform empowers enterprises to create modern solutions to the world's problems.

As an Engineering Manager, you will be leading a team working on storage services used by both our customers and our internal teams:

• Managing and developing the team through hiring, training, coaching and mentoring
• Providing technical expertise and leadership for your team
• Participating in technical design, product specifications reviews, projects and backlog planning
• Planning your team's sprints, collaborate with product and project managers
• Improving internal processes and systems on a consistent basis

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have relevant experience and a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Have extensive experience developing software in a distributed, micro-services environment with a depth of experience using Golang
• Have a track record of delivering reliable and secure software
• Have good knowledge of object storage and block storage technologies within cloud environments
• Have experience designing abstract software architectures from ideas through implementation and creatively apply domain experience to solve technical challenges
• Have experience managing teams in an agile Devops environment
