You will drive the pre-clinical exploration, validation and implementation of high content cellular imaging-based phenotypes and develop algorithms and pipelines to enable the impactful use of complex cellular assays for target ID and validation.
As a member of the Biomedical Research data science community, you will also benefit from a >300 people global community with extensive know how and resources in compute, data analysis, data engineering and AI/ML.
In this role, you will:
Develop, validate and implement image-processing and analysis workflows and algorithms to enable complex cellular assay development, characterization and readouts.
Based on your assessment of the image processing and analysis needs of microscopy-based projects, implement novel image and data processing technologies to design efficient and reusable solutions and pipelines including use of generative AI
Communicate results to a diverse audience of computational and experimental scientists and suggest next experimental and in silico next steps
Work at the interface of high content imaging and high-resolution molecular data modalities to drive innovative target ID and validation.
Be an AI/ML and data steward and educate and train colleagues in the field of AI/ML for computer vision and other biomedical applications
Minimum Requirements: PhD/MS in computer science, biomedical image computing, computational imaging, or a related quantitative field
Work Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in industry or academia (e.g. Postdoctoral Research).
Skills:
Strong programming and data analysis skills in Python and R and practical experience with at least one major deep learning framework (PyTorch, TensorFlow).
Strong background in computer vision or computational imaging applied to cellular biology and demonstrated ability to innovate in that space.
Skilled in parallel data processing, working in both HPC environments and cloud computing platforms.
Proven track record in applying image analysis software such as CellProfiler, ImageJ/FIJI, Napari, ilastik or Imaris.
Experience in statistical modeling, machine learning, data visualization, reproducible research practices.
High learning agility, and ability to thrive in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
Excellent communication skills, demonstrated ability to educate and mentor in the field of data science and AI.
Desirable
You have experience in analyzing images from a diverse range of microscopy modalities, including high-content screening, electron microscopy, light-sheet microscopy and confocal microscopy
Drug discovery experience, ideally in target ID and lead finding.
Experience with omics (e.g spatial transcriptomics) and ML model deployments/MLOps
