Each AI Business Unit operates as an agile start-up pod within Valsoft, blending entrepreneurship with the support to succeed. In this role, you will identify AI opportunities, deliver innovative solutions for Valsoft’s customers, and oversee the operations and strategy of an AI Business Unit focused on one of Valsoft’s vertical markets. You will take a hands-on approach—building a proof of concept, executing against a playbook, engaging with customers, and scaling the business by recruiting and mentoring a high-performing team. Key Responsibilities

  • Business Leadership
    • Oversee the operations and strategy of an AI Business Unit focused on one of Valsoft’s vertical markets.
    • Develop and execute the unit's overall strategy, ensuring alignment with company goals and driving growth of AI offerings within the vertical.
    • Execute against a provided playbook, building an initial proof-of-concept and scaling the team and operations once validated.
  • Operational Excellence
    • Build and optimize workflows for customer onboarding, support, and internal processes to ensure scalability and efficiency.
    • Establish metrics and KPIs to measure and improve performance across all functions.
  • Product Roadmap Development
    • Collaborate with technical teams to develop a product roadmap that meets the vertical market's needs and priorities.
    • Engage with customers to gather feedback and refine features, ensuring alignment with market demands.
    • Deliver high-quality products that meet customer requirements and strengthen the product-market fit.
  • Strategic Growth & Profitability
    • Manage the P&L for the AI Business Unit, balancing innovation with operational efficiency to drive profitability.
    • Expand the customer base within the vertical market and establish the business as a leader in the space.
  • Team Leadership
    • Recruit, lead, and mentor a high-performing, cross-functional team across business, product, sales, and technical functions.
    • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and excellence, inspiring the team to achieve and exceed goals.
    • Build out key roles such as onboarding, sales, and support staff as the proof-of-concept scales successfully.

Candidate Profile

Experience

  • Experience across operations, product strategy or customer-focused roles, preferably in B2B AI, SaaS or technology, and/or relevant experience in management consulting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, engineering, economics, or any other relevant field. 
  • A strong track record of leadership and the ability to take ownership of diverse functional areas.
  • Proven ability to align product development with customer needs and oversee the execution of business and product roadmaps.
  • Financial acumen with experience in P&L management, budgeting, and forecasting.
