I. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
Texas Health and Human Services Commission requires the services of 1 Data Scientist (Big Data Engineer) Specialist, hereafter referred to as Candidate(s), who meets the general qualifications of Data Scientist (Big Data Engineer) Specialist, Data/Database Administration and the specifications outlined in this document for the Texas Health and Human Services Commission.
The Specialist position is rarely selected and should only be considered after all other levels have been exhausted. The Specialist position is considered an expert position that has a comprehensive and authoritative knowledge of or unique skillset in a particular area. A data scientist (big data engineer) is someone who makes value out of data. Such a person proactively fetches information from various sources and analyzes it for better understanding about how the business performs and builds AI tools that automate certain processes within the company.
Data engineer needed for Fraud Analytics roadmap implementation, including standing up new data engineering practices and supporting data analysts and data scientists.

Skill in designing, building, and managing efficient, scalable, and reliable data pipelines to support data integration efforts. Skill in Python and SQL. Experience with Databricks on Azure preferred.
