We are looking for a Data Science Manager to join our team. As a Data Science Manager you will lead a team of data scientists and engineers, overseeing all aspects of model development and managing large-scale datasets. You will contribute to software and data platform development. Your role involves driving impactful outcomes, fostering collaboration, and ensuring the team's success in delivering high-quality solutions.
As a Data Science Manager, your daily workload might include:
- Lead a team of data scientists and engineers to work with large-scale datasets, design and develop novel foundation models and their subsequent specialisation, fine-tuning and alignment
- Take charge of the entire model development lifecycle, including model design, experimentation, evaluation, prototyping, and production, ensuring high-quality and impactful outcomes.
- Contribute to the development of software and data delivery platforms, fostering a service-oriented approach with reusable components across multiple teams, enabling the creation of value for various business use cases.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and market developments, conducting research and evaluations to support model and product development, as well as operational support activities.
- Actively participate in the growth of the team by attracting, developing, and retaining top talents.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture by promoting effective communication, knowledge sharing, and cross-functional collaboration among data scientists, engineers, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
Our target profile is candidates with...
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- +6 years of experience in a relevant field with at least 4 years of experience in science and engineering management.
- Demonstrated proficiency in building and deploying real-world production environment Natural Language Understanding applications/systems.
- Proficiency in Arabic language. Knowledge of Modern Standard Arabic grammar and morphology is a plus.
- Proficiency in Python programming, with extensive knowledge of advanced techniques and concepts.
- Extensive experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow frameworks.
- Proven expertise in handling (processing, cleaning, deduping, etc.) large-scale, real-world, noisy text corpora.
- Experience working with large-scale distributed AI training and inference, including multi-node and cluster GPU computing is a plus.
- Familiarity with multimodal foundation models is a plus.
- Education or experience in computational and/or formal linguistics is a plus.
- Must be Humble, Excellent, Relevant with a high sense of Ownership
