Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented individual to join our team as the Data Coordinator, Biomechanics and Computer Vision. This role will involve a combination of strategic coordination and technical contributions, ensuring the smooth execution of academic partnerships and research projects.

Sport Performance Lab is a cross-sport research and engineering team focused on delivering wins for our professional teams. We are looking for individuals who are eager to learn and able to collaborate within a diverse team.

Position Type: Freelance/Corporate Contractor

Duration: 12-month contract

  • Collaborate with academic institutions, researchers, and external partners to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Lead data collection events, including equipment setup, staff coordination, and scheduling.
  • Lead review meetings and communications between internal and external stakeholders.
  • Track project milestones, resources, risks, and dependencies, ensuring all timelines are met and expectations are managed.
  • Prepare funding proposals, executive updates, and reports to stakeholders.
  • Conduct data analysis and processing, working with tracking data sets to extract insights
  • Monitor daily ETLs and data pipelines, ensuring that data flows smoothly from collection to processing and that data quality is maintained.
  • Review and test pull requests (PRs) for code quality and ensure adherence to best practices.

  • Strong attention to detail: Ability to focus on precise coordination and scheduling for data collections and reviewing data and code thoroughly to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Proficiency in Python programming language for data analysis tasks.
  • Ability to switch between multiple priorities effectively and manage tasks with competing deadlines.
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license and willingness to travel for academic or partnership-related activities.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to facilitate effective collaboration with partners and stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • A technical degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline) or equivalent practical experience.
