The Position

In this pivotal role within Boehringer Ingelheim's Data Value Office (DVO), you will spearhead the strategic use of data and AI to position the Animal Health Business Unit (AHBU) as an industry leader, crafting and executing a forward-thinking strategy in collaboration with global teams and IT. Your leadership will identify and drive the implementation of key data & AI initiatives, delivering significant customer and business value while enhancing operational efficiency through digitalization. Governing the data & AI portfolio, you will ensure alignment with business priorities, oversee resource planning, and measure the impact of these initiatives, setting a new standard for innovation and excellence in the animal health sector.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • One of your key tasks will be defining and aligning our data strategy with our business goals, driving value through digitalization and enhancing our data capabilities.
  • You will benchmark our activities against competitors to keep us at the forefront of the industry.
  • Moreover, you will identify and shape impactful data use cases, manage our portfolio, and liaise with executive management.
  • Leading change management to embed data and digitalization into our organizational culture and operations will be one of your responsibilities.
  • In addition, you will implement a data governance framework to standardize our data management practices.
  • You will facilitate external partnerships for data acquisition, fostering innovative collaborations.
  • Furthermore, you will oversee the data portfolio management, ensuring our data strategies are practical and in line with our business aims.

Requirements

  • Master´s degree or MBA
  • Several years of experience in managing data projects, with a track record of successful implementation of data and digital initiatives
  • Strong skills in change management, with experience leading large transformations and driving cultural change within an organization
  • A passion for staying abreast of industry trends and for driving innovation within the core business
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to translate data and information into actionable insights
  • Several years of experience in a senior executive leadership role, with extensive experience in both IT and business domains
  • Proven ability to manage relationships with senior stakeholders across the business, IT, and at the C-level
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, including the ability to develop clear storylines, conduct engaging workshops, and hold effective stakeholder meetings
