Meta Reality Labs brings together an R&D team of researchers, developers, and engineers with the shared goal of developing the next generation of XR experiences across the spectrum. Our Research team explores, develops, publishes, and delivers novel and cutting-edge technologies for creating photorealistic 3D and 4D worlds from large-scale and heterogeneous data sources. Our team is addressing a variety of technical challenges including generative world foundation model development, static and dynamic reconstruction using radiance fields, semantic scene understanding, and related domains. We're looking for candidates who share a passion for exploring and solving complex, challenging problems at the intersection of generative modeling and photorealistic 3D/4D reconstruction. The ideal candidate has an exceptional, proven track record in 3D generative model development and is an outstanding software engineer who can prototype and verify novel algorithms. The aim of this role is to develop and advance state of the art research in 3D/4D Generative AI technologies.Computer Vision Research Scientist ResponsibilitiesResearch and develop novel computer vision models in Generative AI, with a focus on photorealistic 3D/4D scene generationPublish research results at top-tier international conferencesCollaborate with team members throughout the lifetime of a project, from early research through prototypingDevelop research that can be applied to Meta’s VR/AR product developmentMinimum QualificationsPhD in the field of computer vision, machine learning, robotics, or equivalentWork experience in a faculty, industry, or government research position with primary emphasis on AI researchBackground in generative AI, 3D computer vision, video, and image generationExperience designing generative machine learning algorithms, including data curation, large-scale training, and inference of novel ML architecturesExperience working in cross functional collaborationsPreferred QualificationsDoctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical EngineeringExperienced in advanced geometric computer vision, computational imaging, large scale numerical optimization, state estimation, and sensor fusion.Experience working in a Linux environmentBroad understanding of the full machine vision pipeline from sensors to high-level algorithmsAbout Meta Meta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses. When Facebook launched in 2004, it changed the way people connect. Apps like Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp further empowered billions around the world. Now, Meta is moving beyond 2D screens toward immersive experiences like augmented and virtual reality to help build the next evolution in social technology. People who choose to build their careers by building with us at Meta help shape a future that will take us beyond what digital connection makes possible today—beyond the constraints of screens, the limits of distance, and even the rules of physics.
