As an Associate Researcher in AI / Data Science:

How you'll make an impact:

• Leading the automation of critical research-related analyses and processes, as well as contributing to the valorization of biodiversity and ecosystem services in the Amazon Basin.
• Driving the development of algorithms aligned with Amazon sustainability, including the adaptation and calibration of existing AI/ML tools to provide technological support for on-the-ground conservation partners such as NGOs, communities, and governments.
• Supporting decision-making in both public and private sectors by making large-scale data analysis accessible and user-friendly. Collaborating with specialized computer science teams within and beyond UTEC.
• Publishing high-level scientific research.
• Establishing new strategic partnerships for UTEC and ASRI.
• Identifying and securing funding to strengthen your research line.

What makes you a great fit:

• PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or Artificial Intelligence
• Proven research experience
• Publications in academic journals
• Experience as PI or Co-PI in funded research projects
• Preferred: experience in biodiversity-related research, modeling, or conservation; portfolio of relevant projects is a plus
