About your role

We are seeking an innovative AI Legal Evaluator to help build and evaluate the legal quality of Rocket Lawyer AI solutions. This role requires legal and analytical expertise to optimize our AI-driven products. This is an exciting role in which the successful candidate will be working directly with AI, evaluating responses, and building prompts. To excel in this role, the successful candidate must possess sound knowledge of legal concepts, strong analytical capabilities, and basic skills in data analysis and problem-solving. Ideal candidates should also have a broad understanding of various areas of law and the concepts behind them.The successful candidate will work across various operational aspects of legal data management, including analyzing legal documents, organizing data, and evaluating AI responses through a legal lens.

How you will make a difference day to day

  • Legal Expertise & Research:
    • Knowledge of general legal principles within contract, employment, business, and family law
    • Willingness to learn about US legal principles and their application across different contexts
    • Capability to interpret various legal situations and provide first steps of action
    • Proven ability to conduct thorough legal research and synthesize complex information into actionable insights
    • Experience identifying, analysing, and categorising important legally relevant information within legal documents         
  • Writing & Documentation Excellence:
    • Willingness to write in US English
    • Exceptional attention to detail
    • Advanced editing capabilities for legal and technical documentation
    • Experience in drafting and customizing legal documents and guidance
  • Analytical & Technical Proficiency
    • Analyze legal data (e.g. legal documents and legal situations) to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement
    • Strong critical thinking and analytical problem-solving skills
    • Experience in data analysis and interpretation is a plus
    • Demonstrated interest in legal technology and its applications
    • Ability to evaluate AI responses and suggest corrective actions for the data pipeline
  • Process and Project Management
    • Ability to structure legal documents/summaries in a clear, readable format
    • Intellectual curiosity and adaptability to emerging technologies
    • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy
    • Analytical mindset with a systematic approach to problem-solving

What you’ll need

  • A bachelor’s degree is required. 
  • A master’s degree in a legal, data, or comparative field is an asset
  • 1+ years working as a paralegal, legal researcher, or legal data analyst
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams and locations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, the successful candidate will hit the group running
  • A basic understanding of project management and tools (For example, Jira)
