Position Overview: Brandeis University’s Graduate Professional Studies (GPS) invites applications for an Adjunct Faculty position to teach AI Fundamentals for Leaders, a 3-credit online course in the AI-Driven Leadership Program. This course provides leaders with foundational knowledge of artificial intelligence concepts, terminologies, and technologies to support informed decision-making and strategic planning in diverse organizational settings. The instructor will develop and deliver engaging, high-quality course content aligned with program objectives and Brandeis University’s teaching standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Course Development and Delivery: Design and teach course material focusing on key topics, including an overview of AI, machine learning, and data science; algorithms and data structures; AI applications across industries; and the limitations and capabilities of AI.

  • Case Studies and Applications: Incorporate real-life case studies of successful AI implementations and lessons learned from project failures.

  • Student Engagement: Foster a dynamic and inclusive online learning environment, providing mentorship and support to a diverse student population.

  • Assessment: Develop assignments, assessments, and projects that measure and support student learning outcomes.

  • Continuous Improvement: Integrate current industry trends and advancements into course content to maintain relevance and rigor.

Qualifications:

  • Required:

    • Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Data Science, Business Administration, or a related field.

    • Professional experience in leadership roles involving AI implementation or strategy.

    • Strong knowledge of AI concepts, algorithms, and applications in various industries.

    • Effective communication and teaching skills in an online learning environment.

  • Preferred:

    • Previous experience teaching at the graduate level or conducting professional training sessions.

    • Familiarity with online education platforms and course development tools.

    • Published work or professional presentations in AI-related topics or leadership strategies.

About the Course: AI Fundamentals for Leaders is a foundational course designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the opportunities and challenges of incorporating AI into organizational decision-making. The course emphasizes understanding AI technologies and their applications while critically evaluating their limitations and ethical considerations.
