As a Wiring Harness Design Engineer, your responsibilities include executing electrical wiring harness design, builds and lab operations in compliance with industry standards such as IPC/WHMA-A-620 and Aerospace quality standards. You will lead and implement manufacturing plans and develop methodologies for the Electrical Wire Harness Integration Laboratory. 

Your role involves utilizing expertise in wire harness manufacturing processes. (
Utilizes knowledge of Wire Harness manufacturing process such as wire cutting, routing, splicing, crimping, soldering, shielding, assembling final harness, testing, inspecting, ). Incorporating the same in wire harness designs. Designing harnesses as per the requirements while maintaining compliance with the applicable standards.

Additionally, you'll interface with suppliers, manage material procurement, oversee inventory, and implement lean principles. Collaboration with internal stakeholders, troubleshooting, and supporting design activities for flight test installations may also be part of your role.

Tech Skills Required
  • Good knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certification, AS50881

  • Hands on knowledge of Cable/Wire Preparation, Measuring Cable Assemblies and Wires, Testing Cable Assemblies, Crimp Terminations, Insulation Displacement Connections, Soldered Terminations, Connectorization, Molding/Potting, Splicing, Marking and Labeling, Wire Bundle Securing Shielding, Cable/Wire Harness Protective Coverings, Coaxial and Twinaxial Cable Assemblies, Packing.

  • Excellent proficiency in using Wire Harness Design Softwares such as - CATIA / CATIA v5 / CATIA v6 / Solidworks Electrical / Siemens Capital etc. 

  • Ability to create wire harness designs, drawings and propose design solutions

  • Knowledge of Engineering Fundamentals for electrical design of simple aerospace components/ electrical wire harnesses with awareness on aerospace materials, manufacturing processes and heat treatments etc.

  • AS9100 D quality management system awareness

  • Hands-on experience in fabricating electrical components

  • Lab compliance tasks including tool control, FOD, and ESD

  • Analytical approach to problem-solving and innovation

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills


Prefered Qualification

B.Tech / M.Tech Electrical or Electronics or Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with at least 3 years of experience working on aerospace / automotive  wiring harness design
