Position Summary

Austin, TX (Hybrid)

As an Identity, Biometrics & AI Specialist you will be lead and advocate within IBS collaborating with resources across departments (e.g. product, sales, pre-sales, engineering, project, S&M, finance, senior/executive leadership) as well as other Thales technology business units. Your priority will be engaging with high profile US and Canadian government customers, to advance the clients’ success in achieving/exceeding their business objectives utilizing Thales solutions and steering new or modified solutions.

You will be a trusted technology advisor with Identity and Biometrics solutions core expertise and possess a good foundational understanding of Artificial Intelligence in order to contribute the team to augment and leverage AI to objectively identify areas where AI products and solutions can add the most value in Thales solutions for government programs.

This role requires a deep understanding of government IT environments, procurement processes, complex sales cycles and the ability to translate complex technical information into clear, compelling business value propositions.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in pre-sales and consulting in the domain of secure identity documents and government programs solutions to government agencies at the federal, state, or local levels.

Key Areas of Responsibility

As the lead senior consultant for high profile US and Canadian government customers (e.g. National Sheriffs Association, Department of Homeland Security, Transport & Security Administration, Customs & Border Patrol, Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Canada Border Services Agency), you will assess client business requirements with the goal of transforming to opportunity and implementing a bespoke Thales solution.

  • You will also assess the customer's technology readiness.

  • Function as a subject matter expert to spearhead the creation and definition of tailored solutions to customers in collaboration with internal teams, and external partners.

  • Contribute to technical analysis and review processes that align with the customers’ needs.

  • Articulate the business value of proposed solutions and effectively communicate value propositions through persuasive and compelling customer presentations.

  • Collaborate with Sales leadership and decision makers to evaluate opportunities and make recommendations on pursuit or withdrawal.

  • Internal Consultancy, Collaboration & Innovation

  • Analytical support to internal teams on short ad-hoc missions to assist with problem analysis and deliverables (e.g. reporting, quality assurance, documentation) across a diverse number of departments and customer environments. This will include supporting the teams by attending customer meetings as an advisor.

  • Assist teams in identifying, articulating, and facilitating the removal of blockers to project or  maintenance execution by problem solving, providing documented analysis of problem, root cause identification and recommendation for remedial actions, and resolution.

  • Support Business Analysts in bridging the gap between Thales solutions and the business as a subject matter expert.

  • Support Product Line Managers to address their respective markets by contributing in business analysis (e.g., whitespace analysis, identify industry trends), market analysis, product definition, and strategy.

  • Participate (Or Lead) in execution of AI initiatives to enhance the company's internal processes and development for the benefit of the business. Act as the focal point and advisory for AI cross selling and adaptation of Thales AI solutions and technology partners.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar technical field.

  • 10+ Years of technology-related pre-sales in the domain of Secure Identity Documents and Biometric solutions to government customers.

  • At least 5 Years pre-sales experience in the North American Driver’s License industry for secure documents, solutions and innovative technology such as US Digital Driver's License and Self-Enrolment Kiosks.

  • 3+ Years experience of biometrics solutions (e.g. ABIS, Mobile Biometrics, Fingerprint Examiner Tools) for US law enforcement pre-sales and consulting with US Federal and/or Canadian government customers.
