We are looking for a Manager, New Product Introduction for special fleet infrastructure projects. This individual will be responsible for translating conceptual prototypes to production articles ready to be scaled at Cruise facilities. As one of the first hires, this individual should be comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy and whitespace. We expect this individual to proactively identify and pursue new ideas for product improvement. Communication skills to effectively articulate needs to the broader organization is also critical for integrating these products with Cruise’s AVs and facility designs.

Responsibilities

  • Engage Cruise stakeholders to drive systems design.
  • Coordinate with internal and external engineering teams to ensure products are designed for reliability, testing, and manufacturability.
  • Shepherd product through production manufacturing and early deployment.
  • Analyze performance from simulation and real-world testing (at operational fleet depots), root cause issues, and identify and prioritize areas for improvement.
  • Perform environmental and stress tests on robotic systems to validate components and overall design.
  • Contribute to short- and long-term planning with Commercial Operations leadership.

Job Requirements

  • 4+ years of technical experience in design and manufacturing, and demonstrated track record of bringing a hardware product to production.
  • Expertise in designing for manufacturability, testing, and reliability.
  • Prior experience running environmental and stress tests on products.
  • Prior experience building end-of-line manufacturing test fixtures.
  • Familiarity with UL and CE standards.
  • Ability to take ownership of work and make progress with minimal supervision.
