Clinical Informatics and Data Science Intern (Remote)
Job Description
At Freenome, your work will lead to developing cutting-edge technology to support our mission of early detection and intervention in human disease. The Clinical Informatics & Data Science team leads the clinical data management, tracking, and analysis. We gather key insights from clinical data to ensure that the trial progress is healthy, trial quality meets FDA requirements, and the overall trial meets the study goals.
This internship will have a focus in data analysis and visualization, and additionally will provide you with exposure to the cross-functional activities of clinical trials across different projects, and opportunities to learn the rationale behind the clinical data collection. This is a great opportunity for a proactive individual looking for a hands-on, meaningful learning experience in a fast-paced and collaborative team. This role reports to the Director Clinical Informatics and Data Science.
Responsibilities
You will be assigned a project to own and drive for the duration of the internship. Additionally, you will support various data cleaning tasks and projects that improve existing pipelines. These other tasks and projects may include:
- Working with teammates to build a testing instance for the data visualization pipeline.
- Improving the existing data visualization pipeline to make it fast and robust.
- Cleaning and organizing clinical study data and generating summary reports.
Job Requirements
- Currently a junior or above in a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD program for Clinical Informatics, Bioinformatics, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science or other relevant scientific fields
Or alternatively, within one year post graduation.
- Proficiency in Python and R.
Experience building pipelines and using visualization packages in Python and R.
- Familiarity with Docker.
