We are seeking a highly skilled Machine Learning Architect to join our Machine Learning practice at Caylent. This role is designed for a technical leader who can architect complex ML solutions, lead client engagements, and drive strategic technical initiatives while providing expert guidance to engineering teams and shaping the technical direction of machine learning projects.

Technical Competencies

Machine Learning Domain Expertise

Core Foundation (Required):

• Traditional ML & Data Science: Deep expertise in end-to-end ML project lifecycle with proven ability to architect solutions across some of the areas such as supervised learning, unsupervised learning, deep learning, computer vision, NLP, time series analysis, and statistical modeling at enterprise scale
• Experience designing feature engineering frameworks, model evaluation strategies, and production inference architectures for complex business requirements

Specialization Areas (Deep expertise required in at least 2 of the following):

• MLOps & Platform Engineering: Architect and implement enterprise ML platforms with multi-environment deployment strategies, design comprehensive model governance frameworks with automated versioning and approval workflows, establish organization-wide experiment tracking and collaboration systems, create cost-optimized training infrastructure with intelligent auto-scaling capabilities, and develop enterprise-grade CI/CD processes with advanced monitoring and rollback mechanisms
• Generative AI & LLM Applications: Architect  and implement high-availability LLM serving infrastructures with load balancing and failover mechanisms, design advanced prompt optimization systems with A/B testing and performance analytics frameworks, establish sophisticated fine-tuning pipelines with comprehensive model comparison and evaluation capabilities, create enterprise token usage optimization and cost management systems, and design LLM integration architectures for complex enterprise applications
• RAG & Knowledge Systems: Architect  and implement multi-modal RAG systems that intelligently handle documents, images, and structured data sources, design enterprise knowledge management platforms with hierarchical access controls and governance frameworks, establish advanced semantic search architectures with hybrid retrieval strategies and performance optimization, create intelligent document understanding pipelines with automated metadata extraction and content classification, and design knowledge integration systems for complex enterprise data ecosystems
• AI Agents & Conversational Systems: Architect  and implement multi-agent orchestration systems with sophisticated task delegation and coordination mechanisms, design conversation management platforms with advanced context persistence and user session management, create complex workflow automation frameworks with human-in-the-loop capabilities and intelligent escalation, establish enterprise chatbot infrastructures with advanced reasoning capabilities and comprehensive tool integration, and design conversational analytics platforms with performance optimization and user experience enhancement

AWS Cloud & Machine Learning Expertise

• Expert with architectural design capabilities across the AWS ecosystem with the ability to transform business problems into scalable AWS-native ML solutions
• Large-Scale System Design: Architect distributed processing systems using EMR, Batch, and Step Functions for enterprise-scale ML workflows
• ML System Evaluation & Observability: Design comprehensive evaluation frameworks, monitoring systems, and alerting infrastructure for production ML systems
• Enterprise Integration: Design ML solutions that integrate seamlessly with existing enterprise software, APIs, and security frameworks
• Multi-account strategies and organizational AWS standards

General Technical Skills

• Advanced software engineering practices including system design, architectural patterns, and technical leadership
• Design and implement complex CI/CD pipelines and comprehensive Infrastructure as Code strategies

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
• 5-7 years of experience in machine learning, data science, or related fields
• Proven track record of architecting and delivering complex ML solutions at enterprise scale
• Strong leadership experience with the ability to guide technical teams and influence strategic decisions
• Experience with client-facing roles and technical consultation
• Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present to senior leadership and technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS Machine Learning Specialty and Solutions Architect certifications
• Previous consulting or professional services experience
• Experience with generative AI and LLM architecture design
• Published research or thought leadership in machine learning
• Experience with regulatory compliance and governance frameworks for AI systems

Career Growth This position offers progression paths to Senior Machine Learning Architect and Principal Architect levels within our Machine Learning practice. Architects are expected to drive technical strategy, lead large-scale engagements, and contribute to Caylent's thought leadership in the ML space while building and mentoring high-performing technical teams.
