The Opportunity

We’re looking for a community-driven, tech-savvy Community & Support Associate to nurture and grow Zencoder’s developer communities across Slack, Discord, X and Reddit. You’ll be the front line for developer engagement—facilitating conversations, troubleshooting issues, and amplifying community voices. This role blends support and community to ensure devs feel heard, supported & inspired.

You’ll be a part of the team that ships AI products, shaping the future of software development and unlocking the creative potential of brilliant minds.

Key Responsibilities

Community Management

• Moderate and manage Slack, Discord, and Reddit groups to ensure safe, constructive conversations.
• Track engagement metrics and community health; report insights to GTM and product teams.
• Drive participation with AMAs, polls, challenges, and spotlighting community projects.
• Grow membership by building partnerships with open-source contributors and dev communities.
• Organize virtual community events—office hours, workshops, or hack sessions.

Developer Support

• Provide timely first-line support in community channels, triaging issues to product/engineering.
• Maintain a living FAQ and knowledge base with recurring questions and solutions.
• Act as the “voice of the developer” by routing feedback into product & engineering.

Content & Engagement

• Draft quick-hit content: announcements, patch notes, community updates.
• Amplify user-generated content (tutorials, blogs, demos) across Zencoder’s communities.
• Collaborate with DevRels/Marketing to seed discussions around features, agents, & integrations.
• Encourage contributions to Zencoder’s Zen Agents Marketplace and highlight top creators.

Essential Qualifications

Community & Support Skills

• 3 years of experience moderating or managing online developer communities.
• Strong empathy & communication skills; can de-escalate conflict while keeping engagement high.
• Familiarity with support workflows (ticketing systems, FAQs, handoffs to engineering).

Technical Comfort

• Comfortable reading/writing basic code (JavaScript, Python, etc.), understands dev pain points.
• Familiarity with GitHub, VS Code, JetBrains, Slack bots, Discord moderation tools.

• Growth mindset, learner, Self-starter who thrives in fast-moving environments. Genuine passion for helping developers succeed, finds new ways to spark conversations and build trust with devs.
