About the role

The world of software development is on the brink of transformation — and Augment is leading the charge. We’re building the next generation of AI-powered tools that help engineering teams move faster, stay in flow longer, and deliver more impactful outcomes.

As an AI Product Engineer at Augment, you’ll be at the heart of this transformation.

In this role you will:

• Lead the ideation, design, development, and launch of AI-powered experiences that boost developer productivity.
• Integrate cutting-edge models into seamless, delightful product flows.
• Use an empirical mindset to experiment, measure, and optimize for maximum user value.
• Stay ahead of the curve by embracing the rapid pace of AI advancements.
• Mentor teammates on product thinking and contribute to a culture of continuous learning.
• Partner with design and research to shape user insights into product enhancements.

You have:

• 6+ years of software engineering and product experience
• A passion for building elegant tools that simplify complex workflows for developers.
• Experience creating clarity in ambiguous problem spaces and delivering polished products.
• Strong coding skills in one or more of the following: Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, Svelte, React, Kotlin, Java — or similar.
• Experience with prompting LLMs and tuning responses to create moments of user delight.
• A proactive approach to solving problems and collaborating across functions.

While not required, it’s an added plus if you also have:

• Shipped AI-native products built on top of foundation models (e.g., OpenAI, Claude, Gemini).
• Experience with making AI outputs more reliable and building user trust in AI-powered features.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (especially GCP).
